AKYL (Arqam Kids and Youth Learning) is an Islamic weekend education program under MCAS, providing a holistic learning experience for children and youth.
2How is AKYL different from other weekend madrasahs?
AKYL integrates parental involvement through social activities, making it more than just a typical weekend school.
3Who can enroll in AKYL?
AKYL is open to children and youth aged 7 to 17, including those from convert families and young Muslims seeking Islamic education.
4Is AKYL free?
Yes, since January 2025, AKYL classes are fully free as part of the Project SEED initiative.
5What subjects are covered in AKYL?
The curriculum includes Quranic Literacy, Islamic Beliefs & Practices (Aqidah & Fiqh), Manners & Ethics (Akhlaq), Islamic History (Sirah), Prophetic Traditions (Hadith), and Quranic Commentaries (Tafsir).
6What additional support is provided for students?
AKYL provides free learning materials, school uniforms, refreshments, and transportation from selected MRT stations.
7When can I register for AKYL?
There are two intakes:
January Intake (Registration opens in October)
March Intake (Registration opens in February)
8Where are AKYL classes conducted?
Classes are held at Madrasah Al-Ma'arif Al-Islamiah, 3 Lorong 39 Geylang, Singapore 387865.
9What kind of activities does AKYL offer?
AKYL provides experiential learning, workshops, Islamic calendar event celebrations, and enrichment programs to enhance student engagement.
10How can I support AKYL?
You can contribute to sustaining free Islamic education by donating through MCAS website.
11Are parents allowed to enter the Madrasah to send child?
Parents can enter the Madrasah to send child. However, parents are not allowed to stay and wait in the Madrasah premise after sending child.
12How will the students identify their classes on the first day?
There will be signages for the students to refer to. Our teachers and admin team will be around to assist the students.
13Is there a point of contact for parents to call for last minute updates (late or early dismissal) from the parents and vice versa?

14Where are the entrance for pick-up and drop off?
Pick-Up and Drop-Off are only via the back gate.
15For practical solat, do students need to bring their own praying mat (sejadah)?
It is optional for students to bring the praying mat as we will be using the long prayer mats.
